helumi

A Finder drive for Mac that keeps files in end-to-end encrypted cloud storage, using zero bytes on disk and streaming big videos so they open in under a second.

helumi: Early access, open to join. Get it at helumi.app.

helumi is a macOS app that adds a new drive in Finder, next to Macintosh HD, for Mac users with large files such as video editors, photographers, music makers, designers and students. Files look and open like normal in existing apps but live in the cloud, so they take zero bytes on the Mac. Unlike services that download whole files first, helumi fetches only the part being used, so large videos start playing in about 0.8 seconds. Files are end-to-end encrypted, can be shared or requested by link, viewed in a browser, kept offline per folder, and restored for 30 days after deletion.
