Aside is a Mac app that records and transcribes meetings locally without adding a bot or third-party participant to any call. Designed for privacy-conscious professionals, it works across any meeting platform by capturing audio directly on-device, keeping recordings and transcripts as plain Markdown files in user-defined folders. On-device transcription ensures audio never leaves the machine, with benchmarked accuracy comparable to cloud alternatives. Aside also includes an AI agent that can follow along and assist during meetings when explicitly permitted. Available as a $8/month subscription or a one-time $79 purchase, with ten meetings free to start.
